Very post-modern there Racer. How did he do it? Who knows - that is him, the little bit of black, on the lower floor to the far left.

Poor Goldalina. It is so cold and dry. She needs some goop I guess.

... I'll fit right in with these other odds and ends!" - Winston
"Winnie, Winnie, My Winnie! YOU are not odds and ends!" - RG

Three bunns (you can just see Zoey, lower right) and a cat, lazing a cold afternoon away!
Here's why ... about 30 degrees and headed WAY lower fast!
Pretty though.

Mount Baker to the back right, behind the timbered hills. Acres of blackberries in the front there, with their summer bird covers pulled back and wrapped. Further back to the right - reddish - those are blueberry plants. The white post is a windmill, used in April if it is going to frost. There are several of them, run all night, sound like helicopters. Fun! (In fact, they just fired them up for tonight - they must be pretty worried - we have had no serious spring weather yet at all.)

"But first - the House of Rabbits from the road in the snow. That's our lane going up on the left. I'm in there waving!" - RG

"My gorgeous self! - Lucky

Yessirrrr ... it was the Luckster all right. He loves that hiding place.

What a lot of creativity and wishful thinking you all provided. Thank you much.
We will survive the snow. It will be gone on Sunday.

"Why am I hiding?"

"Hey you rascal! Time to come in. There are fresh oats and a snuggle!"

"In case you didn't notice!" - THE Princess

"I feel so inadequate." - RG
(An update: one of the blogs to the right is Byootaful Life which includes Puddy the cat. (One of the honorary cats on the fabled 7-Bunny-7 venture awhile back.) The humans on that blog live in Australia and a few months ago came to Vancouver, B.C. for several months, leaving Puddy with friends. Long story but Puddy left and was gone a long time but just returned! Good news for all who need some!)

... a Chico fix???? (Yur welcome.)
(Yesterday's fancy bunny came from the "Dandy's Journal" Blog off to the right - the folks with Bunny Tunes! The plant is an azalea - Benji could give a whip about eating it ... Benji is a carrot man!)

Monday, February 14, 2011

... where are the carrots??" - Benji
"They're coming, they're coming - hold your horses there, boy!" - RG

Tonight BL made the dish we saw on Hef's Bunny Lounge blog the other day - oh my. We're having it again real soon!
Gotta force some spring-time mood into the house!

About those trees we planted at the Joe Leary Slough in November - I am putting down cardboard and then piling on several shovelsful of bunny litterbox waste as a mulch to keep the reed canary grass from choking them this summer. That grass grows 6 feet tall and has horrid roots.

"Watch my nose! You are getting sleepy - very, very sleepy!
Ah HA! You are now in my command! Bring me carrots." ..... Racer

The Innocent One

Tuesday, February 8, 2011

A nice day today and BL cleaned the decks and put out fresh hay and litter. All of The Bunns got out on the deck after several days cooped up inside. There was a LOT of happy movement!
Benji has some fancy-pants too, but he is not cooperating well for the camera. He thinks he should have been first, not Winston. (Goldie is looking for a treat.)

Here is Winston trying to show off his fancy pantaloons that some of you are so hot for. Enjoy.
Wordle and word cloud - same thing - you find the tools to make them with Google. All OK here at HofR. We had a variety of hard distant-family news and the SuperBowl weekend that offlines almost everyone, but here we are again! Thanks for asking. Next time I shall get the appropriate papers signed and approvals and etc. to take some time off!

"'Time Off' does not compute" - The Bunns

"I've no idea why you should want to proceed ... but you will." - The Princess

Seen a WORDLE before? This is the words from the BLOG List off to the right. The bigger the word, the more it is used. Find yourself? (I know, I know, some of you I don't have listed - I'm a slacker and a bunny slave.)

"THIS .....

... is more like it! Keep up the good work!" - Savannah
"Aye Aye Ma'am - will do." - RG

OK - in 10 words or less, tell us your best SNOW STORM story!

Racer has a spin in Savannah's outside area - he does not like it!

I’ve been learning to write better, bunns! Ms. Juliet Wilson (aka Crafty Green Poet), an accomplished writer, poet, blogger, earth muffin, and fan of yours, has had me as a student in a long-distance, on-line class about Environmental Writing. Your friends The Spots-and-Harriet’s slave, from QiPapers is also doing it. I want to try to use better writing to help people preserve and enjoy their happy and healthy environments.

I have learned how reading about nature and spending more time outside with natural things will give me materials and subjects for writing. I will pay better attention, keep notes, and take more pictures. There is non-fiction and fiction writing, and I have practiced both of them. I seem to do better with fiction writing, but I need to get better at non-fiction because that is what I want to do more of. We read some interesting examples and then wrote some of our own. I may share them someday; some seem quite good, thank you.

I also might share some of the poetry I wrote - or maybe not. While I learned a good deal about poetry, and read many fine examples of nature and environmental poetry, I still need much help and practice. I have two new books with many examples and I will continue to practice. I did write a few poems, but poetry is a lot more than just rhyme and I still don’t “get it” much.

Now we are studying blogs and investigating what our own blog might be like. I used our blog about you all as an example; we have had plenty of practice and some modest success. Perhaps I will branch out and build a blog more about Nature and the Environment too. That will be a broader audience and I will need to learn and use techniques for acquiring new followers and keeping their attention. I will be using it to educate, that is my mission.

We are also studying how to be published. This is a big subject and I have much thinking to do there, it is a daunting task and there are many ways to be published besides as a best-selling author. I need a “plan” and that is my current assignment so I better hop to and get to work on that! It’s a bit of a mystery to me right now.

You may now resume your normal chewing, thumping, pooping and general disapproving. Thank you for your attention. - RG

"Are you kidding me RG? WE should care about this? Come back when you have a symphony and you BETTER BRING TREATS" - THE Princess
