OH- NOTHING IN PARTICULAR ....

Like most folks I suppose, BL and I have a diverse collection of close relatives, distant ones, quasi-adopted ones, some becoming un-relatives, and some working on becoming relatives - maybe. Such was our group that came to visit Sunday ...

Gemma (visiting here) eats carrots - this is because Gemma lives with a family of vegetarians and does not know about meat. Bunns think Gemma is very cool. Gemma is a $100,000 dog. This is because first, Gemma just had a $15,000 hip rebuild. Gemma had the $15,000 hip rebuild because Gemma is also, second, what you know as a Seeing-Eye dog - very well trained, at great expense.

These little cuteys (about 3 yrs. old) - I am not sure they ever stood still - are the twin daughters of the lady who has Gemma. They are from what you call artificial implanting and etc. Yes, the lady is blind since early childhood, born in Mexico ... but she can ski, ride a bike and do the sport where you cross country ski and shoot a gun at targets. (It's done with her ears!) Full time job, own condominium, rides the bus to work - all pretty normal stuff. She is the girl friend of #1 son. Other than a lot of native smarts and being a really nice guy, he has no such claims to fame.

The girls like bunnies and these two - Goldie and Chico - certainly returned the favor.
We have had a LOT of little ones this age traipse in and out of our house over the past many years - we never tire of it - we just get tired!!!!!!!!!!!
For the rest, you'll need to wait for the book....

BENJI'S EYE ...

Benji's left eye has been moist and his cheek fur a bit wet for the past few days. He had to go to the V. E. T. He apparently has an infection and gets a drop 3 times a day. Poor BL - she is the one who got the instructions and is trained to do it.

But ... lucky Benji! He gets extra snuggles and treats too!

SPEAKING OF ZOEY ....

You weren't?

"Well! Why not?" - Zoey

THEY ARE BACK ....

"So, Baxter - what is your opinion of the hired help? Did they do good?"
"Yea Zoey - they did. Not like the usual crowd, but they did OK."
"Should we tell all of them that?"
"No Zoey - they would not understand and we would ruin our image."

"Hi guys! It's great to be home and we missed you all. Did you miss us???" (Maybe just a little?)
Fishing was awful - BL got 3 of the 4 we caught (panfish) - but there was good company and a great little get-a-way. It should have been high 70's/low 80's but was cloudy, spitting rain, windy, and cool! Big thanks to Laura and Dave from RenoRabbits for the good care of The Bunns!

GONE WITH THE WIND ...

Chico's in charge ...

... we are headed for 3 days in Eastern Washington - the Lake Chelan/Wenatchee area - fishing!

Friends-of-the-Animals (Laura and Dave) - from RenoRabbits are cleaning, petting, feeding, taking in and out, and generally doing the work required ... what a treat for us.

Will report back in Monday evening - maybe Laura will leave some tidbits about the adventure on her blog.

YOU NEED NOT SAY IT ....

"I know - I'm stunning." - Goldie

If you have been on the moon or some such for awhile, you will need to see that the 7-Bunny-7 got all the Western bunnies safely to Hef's place (The Bunny Lounge) near Niagara Falls for a huge party while the peeps are away. If you and the 7-Bunny-7 are strangers, well that brief blog from a year or so ago is right over there to the right for your enjoyment.
Lastly, if you are fairly obsessed with a craft hobby - like say cross stitching - you will need to see what happens in the garage while you are so obsessed - over at Eye of the Needle.

A WISE BUNNY "SPEAKS" ...

"Peeps. There is much despair and anger over the oil accident. I hope everyone uses it as an opportunity to press for much better care of the environment in which you - and we - live.

But also remember that for all the people involved in the accident - at fault or not - and for all those working to repair and clean it up, there are many times more than that who are there to care for the unfortunate animal and human critters who suffer from it - mostly just because they need to do it.

Today RG and a friend saw more than 50 Bald Eagles congregated at the mouth of a small stream that flows from a nearby lake into Puget Sound. No one knew exactly why they were there - the speculation was a run of some newly hatched fish heading for the sea. 15 years ago, seeing two eagles together here was a cause for great rejoicing. With help, they recovered - big time.

This too shall pass .... with your help." - Baxter

("So don't screw it up" - Zoey)
