How is it that light-colored Lucky is in the sun, dark-colored Winnie is in the shade, and yet they are snuggled up together????

We are fooled by their fluffy appearance and fall in love with them, and we forget they're so intelligent! (I must say that Winston looks absolutely adorable here!)
Lucky is reflecting the light so Winston can better absorb it with his dark coat?
