BENJI'S CARPET

"Benji has been pretty quiet since Goldie died.  He spent a LOT of time laying cuddled up in a litter box with hay.  BL put this pretty two-tone piece of carpet down and now he spends several hours a day all stretched out and comfy!"  -  RG the Accomodater.

On another note;
I have 1 garlic left. I have sure enjoyed using it. Thank you and BL so much.

Oh, Benji. Could you maybe find him a mate? Lots of shelters/rescues with eager little faces....

Benji is such a sweetie! I know you are making sure he isn't too lonely! We all miss her, too, Benji, but I'm sure nothing close to what you are feeling, Sweet Boy!

THis made me cry, RG! Please find him an older bunn to bond with. No one ever adopts the older bunnies!

Aww :( try offering him a cuddly toy to sit next to, gives them something to lean against.

We have more than 200 bunnies in our shelter. About 60 have been with us from between 2000 to 1000 days. I think that is pretty accurate. I sure have been looking at a lot of little bunny faces. When I first learned about bunny rescue, I couldn't believe numbers like these and I still can't. Got to try to keep some defenses in place, soften a bit of the soul crushing reality of the bunny shelter volunteer. I know this situation to exist, but I also know that no set of critters who have been living in a happy and stable situation like HOR will welcome change. It is difficult to feel you are making the best choice for everyone, and absolutely impossible to know for sure. May God's grace guide you. Benji I salute as I do all who face a loss whose depths cannot be plumbed and who are yet called to live on. Live on! All the rest of you learn about bunnies. See if you can hand your heart over to one (two, three, four..). The first thing they say is, "Thank you, that's mine now."

Awwwww, Benji--we feel your pain; it's an awful thing to lose a loved bun. Smooches and snuggles from me, and Mick sends some nose bonks in consolation.
