"IS RG GOING BACK TO SCHOOL? ...

...  I don't see a class in Bunny Treating.  Why waste his time." - Zoey Precise

"No, I am not going to school again.  Period.  But ... here is a 2 foot long spawning Coho salmon we saw today in one of the little creeks I walk up once a week in fall and winter.  We found 9 of these in the 1/4 mile or so that we survey.  The other little creek we walk had more than 500 smaller spawning Kokanee salmon in about 1/2 mile.  Pretty amazing.  The Kokanee will be through in about two more weeks, but the Coho are just beginning and will spawn through mid-January.  This year is being a very good year for returning salmon in the whole Puget Sound region." - RG Busy

The salmon are just extraordinary. I don't want to disrupt the human power on the river patrol, but it is time for you to go back to school, RG, TO TEACH!!!

Yummy fish. Reach out, grab it, take it home and cook it. Kidding. When is salmon fishing season? I have never seen one in the wild (live on the wrong coast).

I saw a cooking show many a salmon spawning season ago, and the person put a heavy coating of CREAM on the fish before putting it on the grill. Mmmmm, I thought I would die. I think a heavy schmear of Greek yogurt with honey and lemon, then throw over a low wood fire, served with wilted wild greens and washed down with a Rolling Rock would send me into fits. I am about to have fits now...
