"How about RG's homemade apple pie from home grown apples? OK - the crust is from the Pillsbury box, but still ... BL had TWO pieces!" - Culinary RG "What an awful thing to do to perfectly good apples." - Zoey the Unimpressed

@Glenna - yesssss. But, reminds me of the old joke: this newly wed guy roasted a turkey for the holiday and afterwards he asked his mother-in-law how she liked it and she said she did not care for the stuffing and he said he did not stuff that turkey ....

I've just got a batch of apples from Crafty green Boyfriend's parents' apple tree, your pie is inspiring!

Poor Zoey, though, did you not give her some raw apple too?

Nice work, RG!

I was going to bake an apple pie for hubby's birthday (which was on the 29th), but forgot to get the apples and Pillsbury crust. Fortunately, we'd already celebrated his birthday the day before (basketball game, dinner w/cake), so it was all good.

That pie looks wonderful, RG! Good job! I bet if Zoey tried a tiny bit, she would like it!

Oh, gross on the turkey there RG, but it was funny!

I do the same thing! I love pilsbury crusts, I can not get a dough to work for the life of me! We didn't get apples on our tree this year, phooey!

We have pear and peach trees on the farm in Oklahoma and due to the hard freezing and then the drought, they were about an inch and a half (both kinds of fruit) and solid as a rock ... then they fell off the tree ... I'm impressed with that pie!

Peach or strawberry-rhubarb...
Have you tried Marie Callendar's frozen pie shells? Pretty darn good.
