BL'S DILEMMA

"It snowed a bit late Monday night.  BL went out early Tuesday morning to drive down the hill and get the newspaper.  Backed out of the garage, tapped the brakes and - zzzzzippp - right to end of the garage apron.  Couldn't go forward, didn't dare go back.  The door is so heavy she couldn't hold it open and get out safely on the slick asphalt.  So she honked the horn.  Glad I heard it!"  -  RG to the Rescue!

"Listen Hot Shot.  If you were REALLY on top of things you would have delivered the newspaper right to her door, like I got this yummy apple stick!"  -  Chico the Deflater.

I'm glad everybody is safe. If KB has not sent his e-mail, I'd have him turn in Chico who is clearly pushing the envelope. Maybe he didn't quite understand that that was BL in the car and not the Broomer? Oh, turn him in anyway. Icy weather is very scary, and the Broomer was brave.

I am glad you were there to rescue her! I am glad you are all safe!

I remember that situation from when I was a kid in Oklahoma! We don't get ice that lasts very long here in Texas. One time my mom's car slid down a hill and it was stuck there until she was able to install the snow chains on her tires. Everyone in Oklahoma (brandi confirm please) has a set of snow chains for his or her tires! Maybe not anymore ... the ice has kinda evaded the south lately ...

Oklahoma does not get snow. Oklahoma gets ice. Sheets and sheets of ice, layered nice and slick on everything, or should I say nice and THICK. We get freezing rain, sleet, and pellets of ice that fall from the sky. Texas gets the rain, Kansas gets the snow. We get the frozen crap somewhere in between. We are due for a good ole ice storm.
I am not a cat person, but I worry about the little stray mean thing I am feeding that is living under my house.
So love up on KB, keep BL in the house, give Chico a squeeze, keep the HOR gang all warm and stuffed with hay.
Here is a nice poem on another blog about rabbits in the cold. Fitting for our HOR posting today...

Oh, and we don't have tire chains. I think they were lost in our move. But we like to slide around!

Brandi, we know a cat person in denial when we see one. Thanks for keeping an eye on your little pal under the house.

Yep...I remember ice ... we get that, too, here, but not for as long as OK does ... we know it will melt by noon ... the chains work on ice ... :)

as long as the little guy can get under the house, he should be okay ... thanks for feeding him ...

You can check her out. She is EVIL!!! If I did not fear the Wrath of God, I would...take the hose to her. Cats hate water...Damned my moral dilemmas!

Yay for the rescue of BL in distress! Few things are more unnerving than being stuck on the ice and unable to move--I had a minor predicament once trying to get into my car; it was a sheet of ice on the ground and as soon as I started to open the car door, my feet started to move. I was frozen in place--if I continued to pull open the door, I would have fallen, but at the same time I couldn't move away from the car, either. I finally grasped the car door with both hands, leaned against it and carefully worked my way into the seat. Very nerve-wracking.
