For the previous three years, we had been "gypsying" about - trying life in various other parts of the West. But by this time we had decided to buy our place back in the Pacific NW and "settle down" for a change!
We went down to the Farm to visit too, and this kid and the Bunny Lady .. who was then a pretty serious cat lady .. spent quite a lot of time in the Farm barn each holding a nice dutch bunny ... Thelma and Louise the dutchies were. Those two chatted a lot, mostly about how nice it would be to have a bunny like one of these. Well, one day, not much later, Thelma or Louise got out of the pen and found Cocoa, who looks a lot like our The Princess. But Thelma or Louise was, rather, The Big Bad Boy - and Cocoa had a litter about New Years of 2002 ... one of which was The Princess.
The Farm owners, seeing the connection, made us a somewhat surprise gift of the little Princess Bunny once she was eight weeks old ... that's how we got started!
Why we have so many? ... that is quite a different story. You might have to read the book.

That kid could sell ice to an Eskimo, what a cutie. One good bunny deserves another, they say.....
Sweet dutchie! If I had the space, I'd have a warren!
lovely photo and lovely too to read how it all started
How cute--both little granddaughter and dutchie. Thanks for the beginning of the tale!
Awwwww! We love "How it all began" stories. Okay, when are you going to write the book?
It's always nice to hear how people got started with bunnies :) I'm glad you didn't stop at 1 bunny hee hee
