ART OF THE BUNNY ....

- Savannah -
.
.
Maybe you read about the dead gray whale near here that had all the junk in it's stomach. Quite a few gray whales come into Puget Sound waters to feed during their migration north. Some are here for a long time and are recognized by various colorings, marks, etc. Because they feed on the bottom in these fairly shallow waters, they do suck up a lot of whatever is down there - and the commercial and recreational boating is very heavy. The junk we throw in the water .... Hopefully the publicity will help up the heat on the "Save Puget Sound by 2020" campaign. Have you ever read about the Albatrosses on the Bikini and Midway Atolls? Eeeewww - maybe you do not want to.

what a beautiful photo of Savannah.

It's shocking what junk is found inside the albatrosses and now that whale, I hope the publicity fuels your campaign.

It's so sad what we've done and continue to do to our waters. Manhattan is surrounded by water, but I'd rather die than go for a swim in the Hudson or the East River. Can't imagine what it might be like for whatever manages to continue to live in there.

Thanks for lightening up the story with a lovely artistic photo of Savannah.

Lovely photo of Savannah! We had not heard of the whale and the tummy full of stuff!

What a lovely photo. And very artistic. I was just thinking that it gives a little ease and comfort to the environmental mess you described and the plight of the whales, albatrosses, and other sea creatures that we humans pay little mind to in our pursuit of happiness and prosperity (to be polite about it).

We had a dead grey whale wash up on shore over here on Vancouver Island. They're not sure exactly what it died of but they are speculating it may have been attacked by orcas - deep gashes on its side are apparently indicative of this type of attack. I hadn't heard about the one in Puget Sound.

Savannah is such a beautiful bun and she photographs very well.
