WASHINGTON STATE FAIR!

Forget rides - we're for animals and food!

 Start with food - an elephant ear apiece!

 ... and split a large order of greasy fries!!!

 And she still wants a gyro!  I'll nibble on it.

 Cute? Yes - absolutely.  Irresistible? Of course.  Can I have one?  Huh?  Huh?  Please?  Pleeeese?  -  Oh yikes.

 An 8th grade granddaughter has her horse there for two days and we saw some of the performances - they move too fast for my slow finger.  What is it about young girls and horses?

We did stop in the show-rabbit barn - not a fun thing to see for us.  They should have them in a big straw and toy filled pen with straw bales around the edge for us to sit on and interact with them.  Saw the pigs and sheep - that was great - good thing we don't have more land.

There is the broccoli plant back in there about a month ago.  Above are grape vines and just to its left is huge-leaved Italian zucchini.  Not sure what else is in there, but it's all edible!!!

COLLEGE FOOTBALL COMIN ...

Chico wants to remind you all that some in the family are very fond of Maize and Blue and Mayhem in the Big House!

 Mostly it's an excuse to show you the very first, ever, edible head of broccoli I have grown.  Look at the size of that baby.  We had some for dinner - very tender, healthy, organic and tasty!  (I think there might be one more out there in the jungle we call a garden.)

This Easter Lily was transplanted outside three years ago.  It is just now blooming for the year.  So the fashion-divas amongst our Bunny-set are really struggling, again, with the proper gloves and shoes.
