"It has been hot the past two days. Ditto tomorrow. Fans around! And at that, not nearly as the heat in the SW of USA. Go easy down there you all." - RG the Wrung Out

"It is strawberry season! We went to the U-Pick for a few. Yummmmm." - Fruity RG
"It is very beautiful toward the northeast these days. So many different crops and colors in the fields. But hot is coming soon - then we have more "Amber waves of grain!" as the crops flower and go to seed." - RG Enjoying

"WHAT FLOATS YOUR BOAT? ...
"Here is the hops plant last year on July 5. Quite a bit fuller! But, it is a yellow ornamental hops plant, so no, it generally is not real green." - RG the Arbor-Docent.

"THEY SURE ARE GONE A LOT."
"Yah Benjeroo-be-doo, it does seem that way lately. But they leave plenty of hay and my food dish is always filled so I guess they are managing." "Thanks for the pump-up Racer-roo, I was getting a bit concerned."
"Another graduation in Seattle today! But much better traffic and such - well worth it. Thanks for the patience B and R." - RG the Pooped Again

WINSTON'S TRICK
"The hops did not make it to the top by June 15. They hit a bit of a road block and had too much cool weather."
"Garden - carrots, broccoli, chard, kale, nasturtiums, potatoes. Something for all."
"We have not seen froggy for a long, long time and he is probably gone. We searched and searched. He was good while he lasted."
"And that's it for the bunn and garden report." - RG the Reporter.

"WHEN IN THE SLAMMER ...
"I don't know how he can be so comfortable for so long on that awful rattan caned chair. Maybe he feels like it is self imposed payback for pestering me so much." - The Jailer of KB
(PS- A BIG thanks to Laura of RenoRabbits for coming over yesterday evening and making sure the little darlings did not die of lack of attention and food!)

"COME IN QUIETLY ....
"We went to Seattle for a high school graduation today. We got into four traffic jams, one was in the parking garage at the Seattle Mariners Baseball Stadium where the event was held. Left at 2:15- home at midnight. In the car for 6 hours. It's right about 80 miles to Seattle. But it was worth it!" - RG the Double Pooped.

ROOM SERVICE
"She came in from outside at about 5:00pm and scooted into her box. Usually she hops right over to the oats in the pellets. After about an hour I began to worry so I peeked in and she seemed OK. Just to be sure I brought the food dish over. I sure learn slow." - RG the Slave

"Nine feet to go in Nine days. You can see the hops curling it's way up. Some of you said it would make it by June 15. It is going to be close. We are having really good hops-growing weather for another 4 or 5 days at least. Stay tuned." - Farmer RG

RUB-A-DUB-DUB ...
Tuesday we traveled to the Seattle area to see No. 1 daughter's daughter (in red shirt) working with her recently adopted Oregon Wild Mustang filly - Confetti. The kid has been around horses all her life - Mom runs the Shoofly Farm - and is just finishing 7th grade. 6 weeks ago this 1-yr old was a free-range wild mustang pony in the Paisley Desert herd in Oregon. The two have come a long way! (Two one-hour training sessions almost every day!) Her goal is to be able to show Confetti in a fall event - for these ponies - that features how well they have been trained.

ARTISTIC ZOEY
"No, no, no. Zoey is not artistic. This composition of Still Life with Zoey and Flowers is artistic! Those are peonies and the white ones have a dandy fragrance!" - RG the Poser
(Remind me to take a picture of the hops growing so we can see how that contest is doing. It is going to be nip-and-tuck!)
