Lucky has just raised his head, which was also smooched onto the deck floor too - he can relax pretty good!

Listen. the Avery 3383 sticky-back paper is the type that is easy to remove and so good to use for sticky bunns! I can't get it here in our little town so I plan to print on plain paper or card stock and just use some tape. We don't want to be accused of defacing anything ... =:(

Myhouserabbit has a cute example of "almost" Sticky Bunns! Take a peek .. it certainly is the idea we are after!

THE HELP HERE IS PATHETIC ....

You would think the maintenance guy would get right on this, what with the rainy season coming and all ...
Bunny Lady and a friend went crabbing the other day ... this is a GINORMOUS Dungeness - legal is anything beyond the last notch on the right there; it is rare to get a crab bigger than the gauge! They brought home limits! 5 each. There are very large, very dangerous claws right up front, this guy just happens to have them turned so they can't be seen. 15-20 minutes in boiling, lightly salted water.

Looks like Sticky Bunns is the preferred name of our adventure .. now awaiting some stick-ups! Ready, Set, Go .... we'll cobble out a Mission Statement as we go along!

Gosh, Zoey got a nice wonderful mushy compliment from Boogey in Baton Rouge today. But Zoey is all spoken for .. by me and the Bax. She is quite happy with the arrangement too, so will remain an affectionate pen-pal of Boogey. Thanks just the same Boogey Boy.

You may have read about the horrible rampage shooting here in Skagit County yesterday - right near The House if Rabbits it was. Sad and tragic. RG was caught up in the police chase ... cops going both ways in droves on the Freeway. Glad we and all we know are OK.

WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM FRIENDS .....

This is me, Baxter. I do look like Benji, but I am MUCH bigger - I am a Mini-Lop while Benji is a Holland. From under the table here I must clarify what Benji so eloquently said ...

Once the details get worked out, you are to use a picture of your bunny, make it fairly big, and stick it someplace strange or different .. like Tyler and Sydney were stuck onto a hydrant and a dumpster! Then post a picture of it on your blog. RG is going to get ahold of those pix and put them on a Web-page too and everybody can see that and do whatever they do with those things ...

A GRAND BUNNY PRONOUNCEMENT ....

Here I am, Benji, up on my "box" to give a brief speech.

There is an "idea" being floated that all 2-foots that have bunns should put a big picture of their bunn or bunns in some strange place and then take a picture of it to share!

If it works out, Rabbits' Guy, who lives here and apparently does not have enough to do, will make a web page and put those pictures on there, so we can see them all together and share them with our friends and so forth!

The lady that cares for Tyler and Sydney is cooking up the official rules and methods, so maybe she will have more important stuff about it. For example, we need a Mission statement and probably an official name, like "Bunns in Strange Places" or whatever else we can get going for us.

Maybe for now be thinking about this golden opportunity to make a great mark upon the world, and stand by for more info .... post up (or comment) any good ideas you have!

ONCE, AND ONCE ONLY ......

This is NOT a political Blog. Heck, this blog takes no positions whatsoever, except for a bit of disapproval where needed. How would anyone get 10 rabbits to consensus on much of anything?

But even with that being said, in light of an historic event, (and some firm arm twisting by the more liberal family member) we give you the Bunns' opinion and position on the American political scene - at least as interpreted by Bunny Lady!

I am not sure what their votes will count for ... as a group they get just 2 over at the Dandy's Journal weekly bunny-tunes vote.

GET YOUR OWN. THIS ONE'S TAKEN .....

Boy I am in a bittersweet mess. Bunny Lady liked having her salad works of art splattered about the I-net, but is not keen on all the people and bunnies who say they are on their way for dinners!

Those colored items ... I guess there are some carrots, some cantaloupe, watermelon, a blueberry or two, and topped with a nasturtium flower! Those grow really well here and so the leaves and flowers are used a lot! Fresh pineapple gets in there often, as do a couple craisins. Too much fruit is not too good for our group, but I think watermelon is ok- lots of water.

SALAD TIME EFURRYBODY .....

Every night - like clockwork. This tray of beautiful salads goes into the room with the three pairs ... Goldy and Benji, Baxter and Zoey, and Lucky and Winston! The other singles have already had theirs delivered ....

Each is a bit different - Bunny Lady and the critters have got it all figured out, but it plumb eludes me. That is why I don't bunny sit much ... well, at least ONE of the reasons!

I would like to say that there is a gentle and dainty eating of these salads, but it just is not so. She has to dump some of them out and the other bowls clang together, and eventually all get pushed down the hole in the mid-floor of the condo. Each bunny has to have it Just So and then finish with a flourish!!! Whatever ....

Yes. Goldy is a big fluffball ... an American Fuzzy Lop. Benji is a bit smaller, a Holland Lop. Goldy's fur actually looks pretty good right now! Soon it will get another trimming and then it will look like heck for several days.

WHOO HOO, A NEW TOY !!!!

Big Boy and some other relatives came to visit the House of Rabbits! Benji and Goldy are ecstatic! It was quite a treat to watch all involved.

IT RAINED TODAY .....

Quite a gloomy and wet day today here ... all the bunns went outside anyway. Pretty much they stayed under cover, but some got wet in spots. It almost seems like some water on their fur feels good.

As a result, there was some extra good cuddling when they got shuttled back in!

Sure enough ... Savannah does have her own cookbook .... sort of! Actually, you know, it is about Savannah, Georgia. Mr. Fowler is a corresponding friend with Bunny Lady and we have this nice autographed copy here. Some good old-time Savannah treats in there!

BIG BAD BOY ....

The last campout at The Farm was Thursday, so no Post. Camp, after many weeks, is over for another year. Here is a good picture of The Princess's father, Big Bad Boy, who still lives at The Farm! BBB is a handsome guy! I follow it up with a shot of these cheezy bunny crackers! Those camp operators never miss an animal trick. I spare you the photos of Wilbur the pot-bellied pig and the Honeybucket port-a-potti or the kid who shot off one of those cans of whipped cream into his mouth!

Quite the sight this morning ... Savannah is usually such a neat and tidy girl ... she sure did have some fun in the night though! It's all back to normal now ... wonder what tomorrow will bring!

THE PRINCESS .....

Nothing to add here ... this from some early morning time!

This little guy is L111, the newest calf in one of the "resident" pods of Killer Whales (Orcas). Here he is probably less than a couple days old. He/She will be officially named and counted if seen again next year. There are about 85 whales in the resident pods. The locals know everyone of them by their markings and sounds, heard by hydrophones mounted at various points underwater in their usual habitats. The resident pods of Orcas here are all "endangered species" because they live in these waters all the time and Puget Sound suffers from too much people love! There are resident pods in many other places and also transient pods that move long distances. Residents tend to eat fish (salmon - nom, nom, ..) while transients feed on seals, sea lions, and other whales. The Orca is the top of the sea-mammal food chain. OrcaNetwork is a fascinating website for reading about what is going on with the Puget Sound Residents!

And then from the Other-world .... I got hold of this new bunny blog by Carlton Jamal, and now see that I can link to a whole Other-world of bunny blogs - most must be in England! Dare I go there???? Aaaaaghhh .....

WAITING FOR THEIR TEE-TIME .....

Racer (back left, The Princess, Goldy, and Benji are waiting for their turn to swing the clubs! When we did the pen work on the big deck I did not give thought to taking pictures. About all I can do now is take them through the windows!

Yes, it's hot up here ... 80's today ... but we'll be down below 70 in a couple more days and whining about that! The cherry tomatoes are getting red!

wOOt .. in just about three days I was called Sweet, a Saint, and an Inspiration on the blog-o-sphere! I might as well just live there!!!!

Somebody suggested packing up the bunns and taking in a movie in an A/C theatre. Can I imagine getting 10 rabbits to agree on the flick, all get in the car at once, and not squabble over who gets the way-back? Fuggehhtaboudit!

Yes, the 7BUNNY7 is getting anxious, but not yet ... not unless somebody else wants to narrate the adventure. I'm about a month away from having that inspiration! But, if somebody wants to volunteer, let me know, I'll hand over the keys!

And last, did you see ROO today? Wow, and addictive too!

IT IS WARMIN' UP .....

Here is the early Thursday morning (6:30) view out our front windows toward the NE. That is the tippy top of Mt. Baker off to the right of the view. Fog this time of year means one thing ... hot coming! Probably make almost 90 by Saturday ... not good for folks and bunns used to lo-70's! Baxter and Zoey (and the other guys as well) have a fan and slots in the deck to let cool air up from the lower levels! And they are shaded. They'll make it! ... Nobody has A/C in a house here; just most of the newer work-place facilities and stores!

We don't get many Baxter pix of him sitting up .. enjoy!

Savannah, having been out on the deck in her pots all day, now is in and feeling full with some oats .... time for a rabbit snooze. She's a special one ... she deserves it!

We got a note from AndrewBunn today! Had not seen hide nor hare (Ho Ho) of him for some time and that always makes us feel worried. Now we need to hear from Lola the Lovely Lop - and Zinger and Sammy. Good to hear from Rabbie Burns and the Fluffy Tribe too - they must be done with vacation!

OK .. this is NOT destruction .. these are glads and a big dahlia from the House of Rabbits gardens! Makes it sound palatial around here, eh??? Destruction follows ....

I'm not too sure how long this has been going on .... not long though! That little girl seems right proud of her work, doesn't she??? This is Sunday August 10, 2008. I'll try to get another photo when it falls! One of the pieces was dragged into her inside area for extra chewing but I had to discard it .. it had nails!

Ya Boyz ... you best come in. It rained a lot today .. very rare in August here. All bunns were out on the deck and all have fine shelter, but the Boyz (Lucky and Winston) really did want to come in. (This picture is not in the rain.) How can we resist????

About Benji and that box yesterday ... Benji and Goldie do like to go in the box and have one in their condo too, but neither are box chewers. Mainly Savannah is the box destructor! She really does make little ones out of big ones!

IT'S NICE IN HERE!!!!

OK OK ... missed another posting day .. it was camp-out time at The Farm again! A real bunch of show boats this time ... I even heard (and saw) a young girl play Kumbaya on a harmonica with her nose! Be still my heart ......

HOME AGAIN, HOME AGAIN ....

We went to Wenatchee to see this special kid and her sister and parents and the watchdog Boomer! This one, with Grandma Bunny Lady, once had a rabbit named Scooter and they have been on these pages in the past. Scooter died quite awhile ago from the parasite disease that makes a rabbit wobble and tip over .. it was a sad and hard time for all of us. Recently this kid had serious back surgery for scoliosis she has been dealing with for several years. We were so happy to see her recovering well and smiling ... 4 weeks ago we saw her a couple days after the surgery and she was a sad sack :<( ...
We drove from sea-level west of the mountains on Highway US 2 over Stevens Pass (4,000 plus feet). Here was a beautiful waterfall .. it is a gorgeous drive. Listen folks ... we bunns were behaved for Friend of the Animals and happy to see our real keepers too, and we thought they would show lots of pictures of us .... hmmmm ... well, tomorrow, after we get over being happy to see them, we will thump plenty!

Here is the Wenatchee River flowing eastward out of the Cascade Mtns on into the Columbia at Wenatchee.
Here is the Columbia River from the Wenatchee house. It is flowing southward (left to right) and the Wenatchee enters on the extreme left of the picture. There are so many dams, the Columbia is basically a bunch of very long, narrow lakes!
Back westward up the Wenatchee river valley are many pear orchards. The entire area is full of orchards of all sorts, Wenatchee is the Apple Capital of the world! Hot dry country irrigated by the waters of the Columbia. Cold in winter ... good for fruit trees.
It was 99 degrees in the shade .. but it is a DRY heat :<) .. and, these guys have air conditioning and a pool!!!
It was a good trip and great to see the kid doing so well, including her Mom and Dad and lil Sis. Now we are glad to be home. Lord love a buncha bunnies! Thanks to Friend of the Animals from Reno Rabbits for great care of our precious ones left at home.

GOOD NEWS and BAD NEWS ....

First the bad news .... Rabbits' Guy and Bunny Lady are leaving!!!! They are going over the mountains early Monday and we are stuck here until Wednesday evening!!! Aie Yi Yi .... where did they get permission?????

But the Good News .... Friend of the Animals from RenoRabbits is going to come over every evening and feed us really good and clean up and talk to us and all that neat stuff! So things will be pretty good. We asked for advice on Dandy's Journal about if we should be good when the sitter is here, or bad. All those guys said BAD and they had lots of reasons. But, we had sitters once a long time ago and they have never come back - ever - so we are going for GOOD in case we ever need a sitter again .. which we better NOT!

WE NEVER GO THERE ...

No - none of us rabbits are EVER allowed in Farmer RG's garden. We are house and deck bunnies and he harvests and brings the goods to us. Well, actually he harvests, but Bunny Lady does the salad fixin's, and a fine job she does at that too!

We kind of like it as it is. So Boogey and you other guys just stay out of the garden too! GOT IT?

OK ... someone said CHARD! I did not take veggy pix this year, this is from last June ... but it's about the same this year too. From left to right ..some taters, carrots, chard, kale and spinach. Some pumpkin vines starting too. Garlic in the background. Might be some parsley stuffed in there too - I practice "close" planting! So see ... we do think about our bunns fresh greens! OK OK ... but see here ... he has five of those 4 x 10 raised beds. How much do you see planted in bunny greens? Granted, there are some nice rows of lettuce not shown, but still .... gnosh, gnosh ...
