I'M HERE TO TELL YOU ....

That WAS some adventure I had the other night - left out 'till midnight with all those new and strange places to investigate. I got to see where Baxter and Zoey play and where Winston and Lucky play. I left them some calling cards!!!! Got extra treats too. Guilt works.

Company is here again .. long time friend of BL. We're being treated well anyway except -

They FORGOT Racer last evening when they brought us in! They left ALL the deck gates open and Racer had the run of the place out there until midnight! We all agree - our intrepid Racer was exactly the bunn to first experience this "opportunity".

Can you BELIEVE that? tsk tsk ....

(Here are BL and her friend in March of 2001 with The Princess when The Princess was just 10 weeks old and we still had use of our deck.)

We took a quick trip to Seattle ... Mercer Island actually - Poverty Rock it is known as. #1 Son is renting a house there and BL had to go make some special Czechoslovakian Gyros - yumm

Now, today BL goes off to the Skagit River, slides down a bank to some rocks, and commences to fish for Pink Salmon with about 50 zillion other people. NEVER bet against BL and fishing ....

I, RG did the cleaning, filleting, and grilling - a lemon-butter basting and BBQ-sauce glaze. This is eat local week here. Her fish, his potatoes, and the neighbor's sweet corn!

More rabbits tomorrow - promise.

Number one Grand-daughter came up for a visit before heading off to College - Yr 1!We went to Guemes Island and walked the beaches and hiked the hills ...

Came back for some great Bunny Lady dinner and CLUE! - our traditional game. (Doggone that Miss Scarlett - I was SURE it was her.)

On the way taking her back I stopped at the Frank Wagner Elementary School in Monroe, Washington.

Thousands of Vaux Swifts spend the night in the chimney - it's their annual south-bound migration - and the folks sure come to watch! Most everyone wore this hat!

This is last year's count ...

I was too early and could not stay .. there is the famous chimney and to the left a guy in a Swift Suit! It's a pretty big deal ....

We are SO ashamed ... our trusted keeper (well, the dumb one anyway) is dumber than we ever thought. Can you imagine a hoomin who could not even remember his own kids??? I wonder, will we ever get over it .... what shall we do????

LABORING LUCKY ....

There is Lucky outside through the glass ... laboring hard. The whiskey barrels were really good this summer ... especially this one.
