"The guy came about 10 days ago and "harvested" the hops - I was gone and missed it. These pix show what is left now, just a hunk that hung up on the roof - and now all way too dry. He cut down the vines and then mostly cut off the sprigs with those flower-like things - they were still a bit green and very fluffy. It's those that go into beer making. Said he got enough for quite a few "batches" of beer, what ever that means. Still waiting for a sample!" - RG the Remiss 'Splainer.

Pot Pot Pot...is RG the Garden Gnome gonna be 'sperimenting with any newly legalized agriculture come springtime?
Lol, brandi! We'll be waiting to see photos and progress reports on that new crop.
In the meantime, Hopping Buns, keep RG hopping!
Never mind RG I'm sure you will get a sample in due course to try and when you do you can tell us all about itbut in the mean timekeep hopping bunnies!xxSpeedy and mum
HA! His nice photos will get more blurry and out of focus as the crop matures. Oh, and we will be getting way more pictures of food!
Benj, this is what happens when you talk up hay in front of your sweetie. Now follow my advice and tell her she is more precious than hay or a warm spot in the sun or all goldness that foolishly tries to vie with her. As you whisper, slowly edge your way up beside her and the, the, errmm, the stuff she is eating. Anymore pointers? You just let me know.
Thanks, for the hops pictures. I really did think it grew like wheat. It looks like it would have great potential as a dried arrangement.
Will the guy give a special 'House of Rabbits' label to that beer?
Oh, CGP, and if it a special Golden Brew, Goldie can be hired as the spokesmodel!
RG, I suppose being surrounded by bunnies precludes your ever having access to the story of The Little Red Hen* which may be a good thing. Does the same person come to harvest the hops every year? This would argue against the hypothesis that the beer is "not quite right,". But, don't touch the stuff, should it be presented, if one year it is Grandfather and next year a nephew.
*This tale suggests that those who work really hard (any lights going on here) are (let me put this as gently as possible) entitled to certain expectations. Hmmm, too big a leap for a bunny servitor...
OK OK - the lady of the Hops harvest crew was here today and they will be making the beer shortly. I asked her to name a batch "House of Rabbits" - she laughed.
This is the first time anyone has used our hops so it remains a "to be seen" anout the potency and effects.
No "New" crops here!
I love the brew name idea. "Hop" it happens.
