HOME REPAIRS 101 ....

Something usually happens when BL goes away. Otherwise what would I do with my spare time? Anybody have one of these under-the-sink instant hot-water deals? Great idea, I love the thing, but there is a drain plug in the bottom and it started to drip, and drip, and drip - big mess! (This is the 2nd one of these that has done that.) I fiddled with it and it got worse! So I squirted a LOT of Gorilla Glue on the drain plug - that ought to do it! Nope. So I took that sucker apart!!!! Now, on the outside this looks pretty nice - certainly not $250 nice (which is what they cost now, I see) but then you also have the nice spout up at the sink. But the inside - which this picture does not really do justice to - looks like the first try of a high-school science project! Tacky pieced in styro-foam, chintzy hoses, masking tape, and (almost) baling wire! After reading some on-line reviews I saw that this happens a lot and that if you whine right, the company will send you a replacement. I did and they will. Stay tuned to see if I can install it!

"MY DOOR IS OPEN! ...

.... The weather is fine! I'm going out. Be back at 5:00pm RG. Have dinner ready. (please)" - The Princess "Hmpffff .... well, at least she said please - I think. Now a quick report from BL still at the beach in Bandon, Oregon, in her own words .... "Hi Sweetie ... What can I say? Zucchini blossoms were unbelievable: stuffed with shrimp, basil, and cheese, then lightly breaded and fried. Light, delicious. Dipping sauce: Mayo with lemon juice and saffron, Tell bunny bloggers BL is doing great ... earthquake notwithstanding." .... There was a 5.something quake just off Bandon yesterday. I don't think anybody felt it. But the little beach house where BL is sits about 5 feet above high-tide level so even a hint of a tsunami is no trifling matter and there are evacuation route signs everywhere. Me and bunns doing super-d-duper, at least I think so." - RG

PS: How about that toesy for Thursday???

HE'S FINE. REALLY.

"I'm fine. Really. Leave me alone." - Chico"Chico is kind of a messy guy and probably has some bladder issues so he is not the best with litter boxes - unless you consider his entire abode a large litter box! But he is a charming and happy dude and we keep him clean and fine - that was just a pretty bad one there and then he was also outside on the wet deck for awhile, not wanting to stay in his nice big house there when it rained! He'll forgive me when I bring his evening salad!" - RG

(PS: BL reports from Bandon, OR. "BLISS.")

WELCOME BACK TO - AS THE BUNN WORLD HOPS!

"Do you see anything fishy Winnie? Do you see anything? Quit shoving Lucky. No. How about you? No, but I DO smell something fishy. Me too - Rabbits, strange rabbits! Should we go in there? No - let's just play it cool a bit. I've smelled those rabbits before - I just can't remember when. Well crank up your teeny weeny brain and try to remember, Winster. Listen flop-ears. Watch whose brain you are dissing. You aren't exactly Einstein. Think Winnie. THINK! I am, I am - where have I smelled those bunns before????? "Well gosh. Pop up some more corn, make a fresh batch of fudge, grab an apple and some Pepsi and sit back and enjoy. Be ready for tomorrow's installment. - Will The Boyz Succeed? Or ...???" - RG

Monday, October 3, 2011

"LUCKY, WE NEED TO TALK. ...

... OK, what about Winston? The Peeps - they are up to something. Up to something? How can you tell? I can SMELL it Luckster, I surely can. Really? What does IT smell like Winnie Poo Poo? Like OTHER rabbits! Whoa, Winnie - what can that mean? I don't know Luck. Keep those big ears open." "Oh Oh - discovered. Our secret revealed tomorrow ..." - RG

"THE BOX IS CROWN ROYAL ....

.... it's near done for. You might get up and get out for some extras - NOW!" - SavannahDungeness crabbing season ended on Sept. 30 for the year. We got a final trip out and did well.
This trap was down in about 60 feet of water for about 30 minutes. There are chicken legs in the bait box. It has about 30 crabs in there and two were "keepers". Three of us were crabbing with four traps like this. We pulled them all up just twice and pretty much got our limit. A fine end to a fun and tasty activity.

PRETTY PRINCESS

This girl gave us a fright a few days ago - acted so lethargic in the morning after eating and being fine the evening before. She would eat a bit and drink a bit, but was clearly in discomfort. She is almost 10 and we were fearing for the worse. We used the old faithful fresh pineapple juice and some metacam and made sure she had plenty of fresh water and greens and snuggles. After a couple days she came back quite fine - we think maybe there was a hairball issue since she has been moulting for several weeks. She is our pot of gold!

The fields off in front of us during a recent passing shower. The expanse of white is covers pulled over HUGE domestic blackberry fields to protect from birds and excess wet. In the lower left you can also see one of the several wind mills that get turned on in the spring if it gets to be way below freezing after buds come out. They sound like helicopters - all night long!

"POLITICS BE DAMNED ....

.... let's gamble! Whose deal is it?" - Kitty Boy"Poor Lucky. One stinking vote out of 40. How to ever make it up to him? Pat Paulson he isn't." - RG

(Of course, as of this post, there are still about 35 minutes to VOTE FOR LUCKY!)

NO!!!!!

"No way is Benji gonna hold office ... he shoulda asked me first. He's got plenty to do at home. And that's final." - Goldie. "Crap. Winnie and Chico were going to split running-mate duties. We had the world at our finger-tips. Oh well ... there are always treats." - Benji

"Nice voting everyone - we even had Kitty Boy and Abigail-Emily as write-ins. Never heard from Boogey in Baton Rouge. His loss. Thanks for playing along." - RG

BENJI'S RUNNING MATE ....

"Hello! Is there a running mate there?" - Benji"See the poll. Vote early, vote often. Polls close Sunday evening. Hurry hurry. Don't be left with your tongue hanging out and no representation. Time is short." - The Mgmt.

Thursday, September 22, 2011

"WHO SHOULD BE BENJI'S RUNNING MATE?

I'll have to chew on that some!" - Savannah"A good question! We'll have a weekend poll for you to choose. Stay tuned." - RG

"A BANANA IN EVERY BOWL,

a hay-grower stimulus, treat-security for the aged, decent living quarters for all, plenty of greens, nose rubs covered by Bunni-Care, an end to butt cleanings and other nuisance treatments, re-education for hoomins, and whatever else we need and want! That is what I, Benji stand for. Vote for MEEEEE instead of this empty, invisible shell of a candidate on the other brick. You won't be sorry ....." - Benji "I suspect I will be." - RG

RG kayaking - a first!

"THEY ARE BACK ....

.... we got to go outside. Whoop-de-doo." - Lucky"Aww - we missed you all immensely Clucker! We also had a good time. BL got the biggest fish! A 5# 20 inch small-mouth bass. On a No. 8 hook and worm - which is REAL small! We measured it and let it go - the lake NEEDS it!"
"We caught 135 fish (mostly small blue gills - 5 of us fishing off and on) and ate them ALL!"
"My Dad is 92 + and here he is getting snuggled by BL while driving his pontoon boat "The Kermudgeon" - which was our fishing platform!"
"Us on the Lake Michigan beach at Empire - a favorite place."
"We had a fun time and are glad to be back home. Maybe some more pix on a later post. Will catch up on all the blogs soon." (@Karen - we saw the Schooners but spent most of our time a bit south of TC on Silver Lake in my brother's place and fishing from The Kermudgeon. Another brother lives near Interlochen, Big Sis lives across the street from Bryant Park, and little Sis lives near the Bay a bit north of Elk Rapids. Dad lives in what I think is called Bay Meadows just off Silver Lake Rd. Wonderful weather.)
(PS - A HUGE Thanks to FOTA (RenoRabbits) for wonderful bunny care.)

Toey of Zoey!

Indeed a royal foot. I bet the slipper fits!"OK folks. BL and RG are off for several days - going to Traverse City, Michigan - where lives RG's 92 year old Dad and his (RG's) 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Staying in a lake-front summer cottage of one of the Bro's and fishing with whoever wants to go. The Old Dad has a nice pontoon boat for that and enjoys a libation in the afternoon on the deck. Not sure of the I-net opportunities - this might be it until September 18. FOTA (Friend Of The Animals) at RenoRabbits will do most of the heavy bunny-and-KB care, with help from a bunch of good friends. Adios for now." - RG
(How about these Bat Toes???? Found the guy hanging around in the barn the other day!)
