As for this pea-brain - he goes in and out that little door The Princess has for deck access during the day. That one day I came in the house around noon and saw feathers all over the floor and a few small bird remnants. I think one hit our big front windows and died on the deck and he brought it in. EEeeeewwww.... (Shop Vacs work well here.)"What? Cute me cause trouble??? Come ON!"

BODY LANGUAGE ....

Yes, KB and I are pretty good friends. But KB goes into The Princess's area to sneak out the little door onto the deck, usually when she is already out there. So far he can't get off the deck and he does not bother the bunns, but what a pain in the patoot. This evening after all bunns in and the little door latched shut, he hopped down in to see if he could open it. The picture tells the tale!!! No one got hurt.

To top it off, the next pictures were taken just 2 minutes after the shoo-out. (Savannah is in her area which is right next to The Princess.) I don't think KB is viewed as much of a tough guy!!! Probably more as a pestering little brother!

We can discuss the bird feathers all over the dining room floor this morning some other time.

Laura and Hubby - Friend of the Animals - from Reno Rabbits are coming to tend to the needs of the group Sunday and some of Monday. BL and RG will be back by Monday evening!

Actually The Princess took care of it herself. You can see her sitting just outside the little "bunny door". She first poked her nose in, and then came in, nipped Kitty Boy on the butt and he elevated quickly and completely over and out of her pen!!!

This person is RG's eldest Grandchild and she is a sophomore in college this year - a total delight - and she visited this weekend.

This person is her brother who is a sophomore in High School, and he visited too. As you may have heard on BL's other I-net venues, this kid described the characters of CLUE as they relate to Dante's Divine Comedy. She was - ah - impressed and has a new opinion of teenagers and grandchildren, particularly those other than her own!

In CLUE I was Mr. Green and did not fare well - no - not at all - not in any way.

BAXTER AND LOVEY ...

Friends visiting in August, 2004 when we had first gotten Baxter and Lovey. (Our deck still allowed for people chairs!)

Thank you everyone - so many of you! - for the kind words and thoughts. I know many of you have had a similar experience - it never gets easier. But we'll get on and along, as will Zoey. We'll be feeling better shortly.

BAXTER BUNNY - 9 YEARS OLD - REST IN PEACE

Today Baxter had to be put to rest.

He has had rear leg problems and surgeries and was beginning to totally be unable to care for himself or get around much. We tried and tried, but he got worse and worse. He still was happy, fairly pain-free, and had a great appetite! So off he has gone to a happier place before he had to suffer much, and we are left to deal with our huge loss.

Zoey will also have a big adjustment to make and we will give her extra cuddles and care.

BAXTER HELPS OUT ...

Labor Day was wet and dribbly and very Rabbit-Centered here. First this young girl and her aunt came over to have some bunny time. Baxter is a great lap-bunny and BL gave the kid the entire story of rabbits and all about ours. The grand tour. An hour and a half!

Just about the time they are set to leave, another friend and her grand daughter came to see what having a bunny is like. This kid was serious about getting a rabbit and so she too got the whole kit and kaboddle of education. To top it off, Laura from RenoRabbits came over to share her experiences and advice too and boy this kid is totally prepared! Plus she went away with both BL's and Laura's phone numbers and a couple of books!

I guess it worked because we heard the kid right now got herself a bunny - a lion-head? - and is yet another member of our local bunny-nut group!!!!

Quite a bit of time and work, but awful gratifying to see that people think we are pretty good experts and sources of advice! At least BL is! I just sort of did the lifting and standing around smiling and nodding my head in a positive movement!

About liquor boxes. It is not what it seems. Each bunny has a particular box size and shape that they have finally taught to BL. In Washington State, all hard liquor is sold in State stores and people clamor for the empty boxes for storing things, moving, etc. We go through one or more a week! BL has done her trade-mark schmoozing with every worker in every nearby liquor store and so the right ones are kept in stock! No clerk in their right mind would want to perturb a bunny (or BL!)
