"YOU THINK WE ARE "GREEN" WINSTON?"
"Well Lucky, maybe so, but whoever has "repurposed" this piece of crap carpet must have done Benji's litterbox too - awful." "Yeah Winnie - at least beige would have been better than this."

FLUFF AND STUFF ...
Yep, good names for these two - tucked in and snuggled up behind the box is a favorite place on a nice day outside.

I have a gig this fall and winter - weekly wading (bushwhacking really!) a mile or so in two different streams counting spawning salmon. First trip was Wednesday, for the boss to give us an orientation and show us our creeks - no fish expected. But this IS a surprise - a female Coho already way up the creek and pretty well the worse for wear. (We saw a second too.) This fish has gone about 10 miles up a river, 10 miles up a big creek, over a small water fall and then 10 miles up a lake to find this dab of a creek with about 10" of water in it. She is about 2 1/2 feet long! Saw no males - hope some get there soon! (We'll be counting until all fish gone - well into January.)

"SHE KNOWS YOU ARE THERE KB, ...
... she just no longer cares. Your reputation continues to slide!" - RG
Looks like we're in for stormy weather! Columbus Day marks the "official" start of the stormy season here - we are going to get a windy soaker Sat and Sun. The "official" "All Clear" does not happen until Mother's Day. Here in the Pacific NW we have all misplaced our umbrellas since then, and are about to become the world's best place to sell sun glasses because we will be misplacing those about every other day now too, for the next 6 months!

"WELL, WELL; LOOK WHO'S HERE -
... our "people" - as if we missed them?" - Benji
"Oh Benji, you softy! Of course you missed us and we missed you all too! But, BL had a good time being motherly in Wenatchee and I had a good time being Grandfatherly and Fatherly in the Seattle area. (Watched some 10th grade boys play recreational soccer - those boys don't take prisoners!)"
As for this pea-brain - he goes in and out that little door The Princess has for deck access during the day. That one day I came in the house around noon and saw feathers all over the floor and a few small bird remnants. I think one hit our big front windows and died on the deck and he brought it in. EEeeeewwww.... (Shop Vacs work well here.)

BODY LANGUAGE ....
Yes, KB and I are pretty good friends. But KB goes into The Princess's area to sneak out the little door onto the deck, usually when she is already out there. So far he can't get off the deck and he does not bother the bunns, but what a pain in the patoot. This evening after all bunns in and the little door latched shut, he hopped down in to see if he could open it. The picture tells the tale!!! No one got hurt.To top it off, the next pictures were taken just 2 minutes after the shoo-out. (Savannah is in her area which is right next to The Princess.) I don't think KB is viewed as much of a tough guy!!! Probably more as a pestering little brother!

Laura and Hubby - Friend of the Animals - from Reno Rabbits are coming to tend to the needs of the group Sunday and some of Monday. BL and RG will be back by Monday evening!

BL!!!!!
"Get your damned cat out of there!" - RG
Actually The Princess took care of it herself. You can see her sitting just outside the little "bunny door". She first poked her nose in, and then came in, nipped Kitty Boy on the butt and he elevated quickly and completely over and out of her pen!!!
Here is a summary of our reported Personality Types! (I used personalitypage.com for reference, but there are others)
INTJ Scientist 2 reports
INTX Scientist/Thinker 1 report
XNFP Inspirer/Idealist 1 report
INFP Idealist 1 report
INFX Idealist/Protector 1 report
ISFP Artist 1 report
ESFJ Caregiver 1 report
INFJ Protector 3 reports (!)
ENFJ Giver 1 report
There are a lot of Is and Ns and Fs in there. ("I" is Think then act, "N" is future over now, "F" is feelings over facts) I think that bodes well for the fuzzy ones!

"I HAVE NEWS ... BUT FIRST ...
... is this my good side, or what???!!!" - Chico

This person is her brother who is a sophomore in High School, and he visited too. As you may have heard on BL's other I-net venues, this kid described the characters of CLUE as they relate to Dante's Divine Comedy. She was - ah - impressed and has a new opinion of teenagers and grandchildren, particularly those other than her own!

"ZOEY HERE .....
... I'm doing well. For Bunnies there is mostly just this moment, and that is where I am - although a bit confused by my missing Baxter. Thank you all for the kind thoughts, words, and feelings - many I am aware of that were never even spoken by you humans."
Actually I have wasted no time redecorating - I AM a classy one. I've got a nice new box and blankie, and a LOT more room. I fixed everything this way - much different than the way BL had it at first =:<)

BAXTER AND LOVEY ...
Thank you everyone - so many of you! - for the kind words and thoughts. I know many of you have had a similar experience - it never gets easier. But we'll get on and along, as will Zoey. We'll be feeling better shortly.
On a lighter note, BL has had another column printed and you can look at it via the "Bunny Lady's Columns" link to the right under "Websites".

BAXTER BUNNY - 9 YEARS OLD - REST IN PEACE
He has had rear leg problems and surgeries and was beginning to totally be unable to care for himself or get around much. We tried and tried, but he got worse and worse. He still was happy, fairly pain-free, and had a great appetite! So off he has gone to a happier place before he had to suffer much, and we are left to deal with our huge loss.
Zoey will also have a big adjustment to make and we will give her extra cuddles and care.

BAXTER HELPS OUT ...
Labor Day was wet and dribbly and very Rabbit-Centered here. First this young girl and her aunt came over to have some bunny time. Baxter is a great lap-bunny and BL gave the kid the entire story of rabbits and all about ours. The grand tour. An hour and a half!Just about the time they are set to leave, another friend and her grand daughter came to see what having a bunny is like. This kid was serious about getting a rabbit and so she too got the whole kit and kaboddle of education. To top it off, Laura from RenoRabbits came over to share her experiences and advice too and boy this kid is totally prepared! Plus she went away with both BL's and Laura's phone numbers and a couple of books!
I guess it worked because we heard the kid right now got herself a bunny - a lion-head? - and is yet another member of our local bunny-nut group!!!!
Quite a bit of time and work, but awful gratifying to see that people think we are pretty good experts and sources of advice! At least BL is! I just sort of did the lifting and standing around smiling and nodding my head in a positive movement!

"THERE'S A DAMN'D CAT IN THERE!"
"What is this place coming to?" - Chico
About liquor boxes. It is not what it seems. Each bunny has a particular box size and shape that they have finally taught to BL. In Washington State, all hard liquor is sold in State stores and people clamor for the empty boxes for storing things, moving, etc. We go through one or more a week! BL has done her trade-mark schmoozing with every worker in every nearby liquor store and so the right ones are kept in stock! No clerk in their right mind would want to perturb a bunny (or BL!)Sunday, September 5, 2010
